Celebrate the second anniversary of the ANU Gender Institute

To celebrate the second anniversary of the ANU Gender Institute, an event will be held addressing ANU by 2020 – Women and the Measures of Success, the book launch of ANU Inspiring Women and Prizes will be awarded for ‘Excellence in Gender Research’.

The event includes a panel of speakers addressing ‘ANU 2020 - Women and the Measures of Success’. How will the ANU meet its 2020 target of raising the percentage of female academics, especially at senior levels? The panel consists of:

  • Vice Chancellor Professor Ian Young.
  • Professor Carola Vinuesa, Head of the Pathogens and Immunity Department at ANU John Curtin School of Medical Research.
  • Professor Marian Sawer, Emeritus and Adjunct Professor in the School of Politics and International Relations, CASS, ANU.
  • Professor Michael Coper, Former Dean of ANU College of Law (up to 2012).
  • Ms Kelly Johnson, Senior Equity Consultant ANU Diversity & Workforce Planning Branch.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Ian Young will launch the book ANU Inspiring Women, the culmination of a year long project that highlights women's contribution to all facets of campus life.

Prizes for Excellence in Gender Research will be awarded to ANU students for undergraduate and graduate work completed in 2012. This event is event hosted by the ANU Gender Institute.

Followed by light lunch.

This is a free event hosted by the ANU Gender Institute and open to all.
